Whats Happening?

Well, I haven't released anything 'big' in a while, so I thought that I would take you all on a little tour of what I am currently cooking up for the project.

PUSS 2.0

Well you should have already seen some of the 2.0 screenshots and I am felling confident about getting PUSS 2.0 released around the new year. As that is quite soon I am going to post a change log, however please note that the items on this list are subject to change.

  • New Interface - Similar to screenshots
  • Translations
  • Portable Variables
  • New Sync Mode - Mirror
  • Complete Command Line Interface
  • Complete Update of Secure
  • Automatic get Mozilla Application Paths

Over the next few weeks I will be going through each of these new features one by one.

AVE

As well as PUSS I have been doing some more work on AVE, the recent 1.1 release was the culmination of a lot of work, as I completely re-wrote the way it parses inf files. However development certainly hasn't stopped, coming up we have translations and some new functions for creating brand new inf files, mainly to finally replace all of AutoINF's functionality.

Other Stuff / Experiments

But that's not all, I am continually working on new ideas for applications. So with that here are a couple of thing that I am looking at currently, please note that these may never see that light of day,. they are just ideas that I am playing around with.

Unnamed Project 1 - Remote U3 Protection

Designed to be 'burned' onto the CD portion of your U3 drive the idea behind this little U3 app is to log and monitor the location of your drive, the spiritual successor to Libertà Log, if you like. As well as logging the movement of your U3 drive and e-mailing it back to you automatically I am looking at adding capability for remote wiping.

USBPaper

Basically a portable, cross platform notes solution for USB drives, this one is almost in a proof of concept stage so look out for more information soon.

Portable HTML Applications

I am also doing a lot of research into portable blended C++/HTML application based on the wxWidgets wxHTML libraries. The main advantages of this would be a much nicer look to apps and skinability .I am considering this sort of approch for the next generation of apps, PUSS 3.0 (which should be cross platform), AVE 2.0 and other.

Well just to sign off for now, look out for more blog posts soon.
